Hats Off to Women 2005

October 2005, the JWCB held its first annual Benefit for Breast Cancer Awareness. We all know that women wear many hats: wife, mother, daughter, career woman, sister, friend, nurse and care-giver -- the list is endless. In recognition of all that women do, we sponsored a "Hats off to Women" benefit. The event was a fundraiser for the Barnesville 3-Cs, as well as informative and entertaining, intended to increase public awareness of support available to women in our area.

Clubwomen divided into 5 committees, each with a different theme for creating a total of 6 lavish and unique gift baskets to be raffled. Included in baskets were items donated by community businesses and by individual club members. Admission was free for the drawing event, and any woman wearing a hat received one free raffle ticket. Refreshments were served and other fabulous prizes were given to participants, including door prizes.
