A dedication of the village bell was presented to all veterans, past and present, [august 3, 2008] as part of Barnesville’s Bicentennial events. The bell dedication ceremony was presented by the Rolling Thunder, Inc., a group who travels with a Memorial Wall that honors veterans who were, or are, Prisoners of War and missing in action. installed in the bell tower in 1898 and now has been refurbished and will be placed at the Veterans Memorial Square in the village. Saturday’s Bicentennial activities were arranged by the Junior Women’s Club, who stands here with the bell.
