Youth Artisan Fair
An Arts Department: Arts in the Community Project
The JWCB recognized Youth Art Month in March 2007 and again in March 2009 by sponsoring a Youth Artisan Fair for Barnesville Middle School fifth grade students. 

Seventeen local artisans set up in the gymnasium and demonstrate their respective crafts.  Students had the opportunity to observe each artisan at work and in many cases got to try their hand at the craft.  Presenters included:  John Duch, stained glass; Averil Lynn, penny rugs; nancy Gallagher, quilting; Doug Lawrence, chair caning; Victor Peacock, wood carving; Sharon Hanse, calligraphy; Karen Hinkle, scrapbook art; Marilyn Delman, toothbrush rugs; Bonnie Howiler, cake decorating; Connie Morris, knitting; Gary Wershing, iron/metal works; Jill Stephen, jewelry making; Floyd Simpson, caricatures; Diane Kemp, weaving; Sally Mehler, drum carding; Marlene Johnston, crocheting; and Hally Schanks, stamping. 

This event is open to the public, and refreshments are provided by JWCB members.
